Have I ever told you how awesome I am?
I am.
I’m frickin’ great.
(You should tell yourself that every morning when you get up!)
We ran our campaign through Smashwords for July. Remember? I almost forgot. That’s because, the last time I looked, I only managed to giveaway 8 books! 8!
I was down. Depressed. So sad. I can’t even give this shit away.
(That’s how people like Lisard get you! So don’t give into that crap!)
I walked away. Didn’t check it again.
This morning I got my email and….people are so damn cheap!…but….we gave away 82 books for the Smashwords event!
I’m amazed. Shocked. Moreso at the fact that “The Doc” series carried the whole thing. WTF? Most people don’t even know it exists. “On a Hot Summer Night” got 20 downloads and that thing is always FREE on my site in ebook and audio. (Along with “Christmas Eve on Olympus” which still got 11 downloads). There were 25 downloads for “Cold November Rain”. I personally really love that story. The foreign language books….for “The Doc” series….flew out the door. “Dreamweaver” did amazingly well for a 20 year old story with 10 downloads. Yes, again, most people don’t know that one exists either. Yes, I know, I know, it needs help, one day I’ll do that.
Like I said, people are cheap, they wouldn’t plunk down the $0.99 to $1.24 for the other books. They ate up the free ones. Hopefully those who downloaded “Heart” (13 downloads) and “Genesis” (5 downloads, it’s a great story but a tough sell because it doesn’t really “fit” anywhere) will find those interesting enough that they want to buy at least the next book in each series. Those who downloaded the first two books in “The Doc” series will come back and buy “Regret Me Not”. I never give that one away. Nope. Too much sex in it for that. You must buy it. It’s as close to an ‘X’ rated book as I get. Well, you know, if you don’t count that one scene in “Obsession” anyway.
Take it away James!
