Now that I’ve come down off the shipping nightmare and dealt with a few more of those damn scammers…another of which who just would not go away. Yet, I was the ‘unprofessional’ one.
Yeah. Ok.
But it’s the end of the season, and time to start turning in the gardens and making the last of what we can.

We have so much hot sauce! The green one is jalapeno the others are habanero. Those plants should by dying but they just keep putting off fruit. I’ll have to make more soon. Oh, well, at least after the second batch, I learned a hard lesson about wearing gloves when chopping up hot peppers. I was careful, I was, everything was dandy until I got in a nice warm bath and everything about me felt happy and relaxed except for my hands which felt like they were submerged in boiling water. Very odd sensation…but worth it. My hands felt awesome for days after that all subsided (about two hours). They hadn’t felt that good in years.
Anyway, it’s that time of year again. The seasons are changing and so other things like the garden and how many plants now reside inside the house.
I got my candles nicely polished up and labeled. Oh they looked so nice! Truly, first rate. I took them up to the corner store. He paid $4.00 a candle! Yes, I got ripped off. I know, that doesn’t even cover the cost of materials. I almost said ‘no’ but, it’s a shot. Right? If nothing else, the candles have a much better chance of find the people/homes they were intended for if they’re on the shelf at the corner store than they do sitting on my site. Right?
Oh yes, the website.
I updated the apothecary with a new banner and am now offering a free ebook copy of A Window to Magickal Herbalism with every purchase.
I made some changes on the site, updated it a bit including new banner and matching graphics and a bunch of other stuff.
I even changed the books that I offer for free. It was, basically, just my old short story stand-bys, Christmas Eve on Olympus and On a Hot Summer Night. Been available for years in ebook and audio. Narrated by Yours Truly, of course. I added Sins of the Father and Mysterious Ways in audio for free for the first time. Those are not narrated by me but I still have promotional codes and up to the point just before Prodigal Son was published, ACX (Audible) gave us authors a few pennies for every promotional code we were able to get people to redeem. (A task that is actually harder than it should be.)
That still applies to those two books.
I can give them away but still garner a nickle or two.
Good deal.
While I was there I hemmed and I hawed over something I’d said earlier and realized I didn’t really want to do it. So I’m not going to rewrite Daughter of the Gods. Nope.

Instead I put it up for free on the Free Books page. No audio, sorry. Just Kindle or .ePub format. No more .PDF. In fact, I uploaded versions of the .PDFs people had been accessing lately–they’re still doing it even after I took it down– to let them know directly what happened and how they can find it.
Now I’m off to roast a chicken and watch the last of “Black Rabbit” as I get ready to welcome autumn with a grateful embrace.
