They Will Find Out What is Unique About You and They Will Destroy You for It-Jon Stewart
The Daughter of the Gods-Stargate SG1 Fanfiction Story

Once Upon a Time, in a Galaxy Far, Far Away known as the Internet, Lisa Beth Darling (that’s me) went by another name, Moon Mistress. Having begun her writing career in the 4th grade (that’s 1974) she wrote her first original novel in 8th grade, Save Me from the Roses, (which got me into a lot of trouble as it was, well, me. Dark, adult, and ravenous.)
In early 1995, Lisa tackled the budding internet the first chance she got. She entered the fray with her first fanfiction piece Highlander: Forever which received much acclaim and criticism from Canonists but has since been lost to Time, (I think it’s in the attic, on paper, next to Save me from the Roses, in a trunk. Or maybe a….gasp….floppy disk.). Upon leaving the “Highlander” fandom she was called to the character of ‘Daniel Jackson’ from “Stargate SG-1” .

Under the name Moon Mistress, Lisa wrote a 30 story series, Daughter of the Gods, centering on ‘Daniel’, the “SG-1” Universe, and whole host of all original characters. (Including Ares) Like her “Highlander” novel before, these “SG-1” stories caused quite a stir on the Internet with Canonists and those who just didn’t like a web mistress who continually caught them stealing from her.
This led to two of her earlier websites on a place called GeoCities being shut down and a wave of Internet Bullying that lasted for years (and I mean friggin’ years!) on and off line.

Ever the one to tackle the darkness head-on even when she feels like curling up in a ball to cry, Lisa hit back building her own site which could not so easily be shut down. She kept going. She kept writing. She kept publishing her stories on her website. She did not stop until the Daughter of the Gods series, all 30 novels, novellas, and short stories, was done no matter who didn’t like it or where the story took her. It took her, and the reader, far away from Canon to explore new characters, worlds, and hard-hitting situations.

Most of all, this series gave rise to Ares. A God strong enough to take what was being thrown at them and toss it back. So, in the end, without those nasty people, Lisa may never have returned to writing all original fiction and persevering so hard just to spite them.
21 years later, unedited and unrevised, Every New Beginning and Dark Illusions are presented here to you for free as a testament to Lisa’s strength and her determination which brilliantly shows in the characters she creates.
