I know I shouldn’t do this. I should just quietly accept the Big ‘W’, smile, laugh to myself, and walk away. I really should.
BUT
Well, I saw on FB that church services were canceled for this past Sunday. I thought that was odd especially because there’s no real reason given just ‘unforeseen circumstances’ (they’re always to insular in that place). I reached out to a few people and asked what happened because I had left them in great shape for the next month even though some of them were quite mean to me and openly stated that they “didn’t understand” (that one never does! Ever!) what I was talking about in relaying all of the advertising work I’d done for them which would take place after I left. Yeah, the same one who couldn’t remember she was there last Monday to collect my keys and instead just babbled on with another one in that hallway outside my ex-office.
Good news is…it wasn’t anything I did or didn’t do that caused church services to be canceled last week.
Nope.
It was God.
Theirs. Yours. Mine. Whichever, doesn’t matter.
It seems that every single nasty person who was mean, under-handed, lying, and just an outrageous bitch, let’s face it, that’s what they truly are….bitches…
They got COVID!
Yep. ALL of them! Every single person who was mean to me got The Rona.
Now they will never see that as Karma or Divine Retribution (even though their God really did love sending plagues down upon the masses when they misbehaved). They will never even entertain the thought as they will refuse to believe that such a thing could happen to them.
However, if you believe in The Bible (or any religious book) you have to go all in on it. Even the bad stuff. Like Good Friday which they are loath to even really acknowledge in that place because…I shit you not…”it’s sad”.
Well, darlin’, without the Death you don’t get the Ever Lasting Life.
I think God (Theirs, Yours, Mine, whichever) got really sick of their BS and tossed a little stone their way.
Being what they are, of course, they couldn’t be bothered to get in touch with me about it. I only spent time with at least 3 of them on Monday in rather close proximity. I do have COPD and live with two immunocompromised people. No reason to let me know…right? Oh, how Christian of them! (Sorry to you Christians out there who know better than to behave like this.) But, I suppose, God (Theirs, Yours, Mine, whichever) was the little voice in my head Monday afternoon telling me to “leave now. Go. Get out of here.” That’s when I interrupted that lovely nonsensical conversation, dropped the keys in the hands of one of the Unthinking One and left.
I feel ok so I think I was spared.
But…not them. Oh, yeah, BTW, even the new Pastor got it….and she had a rather good sized group for Bible Study that Monday.
What can I say? Karma. She’s a real bitch so…BE NICE to people especially those who are honestly trying to help you.
