It’s possible I didn’t think this through very well.

I got things straightened out with Author Central so now Loony has her own author page over there. I claimed…or tried to claim…her GoodReads page. Did you know you have to have a website to complete that process? I had no idea.
Yeah.
I spent 3 hours building Loony a website. If you could see it you’d look at me and wildly exclaim: You spent three hours on THAT?
I would nod, sigh, and say: I did.
I did not go through the expense of getting her a domain name and buying her web space, that’s just a wee bit too far for me. I got her a free site here on Ye Olde Word Press. They have made getting free space a little harder than it used to be. Everything’s harder than it used to be even her site is harder to create than it should be. I started out intending to give her a small three page site, which is why I spent 3 hours on it, but by the end I was sick of the damn template and all the new crap. I pared it down to one page. That’s it. That’s all she gets.
After that I went back to GoodReads and claimed her page. It went through today, she’s officially a GoodReads author.
That’s it for Loony. She’s not going to Instagram, TikTok, or any other place. She lives in Facebook, Amazon, GoodReads, and her own little website.
All that just to give her the slightest air of legitimacy. All that and I can’t even promote it! LOL! I can’t even post here and show you nice folks what I’ve been up to. This is crazy. Don’t even get me started on the scam emails. So I’m happy I gave her a different email address. It’s an old one of mine but…whatever.
I guess the good news is those old stories of mine that have been crying for deconstruction and elevation for nearly two decades now finally got what they wanted. A New Life. Sorta. I’m trying, ok? Who knows, maybe they’ll find an audience. They sure as hell did the first time around! I could do without all of the negative BS this time around.
Still not sure about the whole pen name thing, in my heart I hate it, I find it cowardly. In my head I know it’s a good shield from the friction that may arise if certain members of a certain fandom ever get wind of it all. They’re good stories and they deserve this second chance so I guess I’ll just have to be happy with that.
Now that she’s fully born into the world and is forming the important digital footprint….Long Live Loony! Good luck, girl.
