I should preface this post by telling you that my longtime companion, my best friend, my black beauty, and the best porch panther ever, Charlie, passed away this weekend. For those of you who love pets you know this is a difficult time. For those of you out there who are Pagan and have full understanding of the word ‘Familiar’, you know how devastating it is and also, possibly, how life affirming it can be. That whole Life/Death/Rebirth thing. He’ll be back. They’ve all come back to me eventually.
I have been in a deep funk for a long while.
In the depths of the grief of Charlie’s passing I realized a strange thing; I am still alive. As such, I should probably get off my ass and start doing some shit again while I’ve still got the opportunity.
This is my blog. I get to say what I want here. I haven’t done that in a long time because, well, yeah, that funk, but let’s face it Today’s Atmosphere doesn’t exactly open things up to a Free Exchange of Ideas. Unless you can speak Shrinkese, of course. I’ve noticed it so much in the shows I watch and movies too. I hate it. Oh, how I hate it!
We don’t have that here. If you should be offended by anything said below, I would like to direct you to the nearest mirror. Kindly stand in front of it, stare deeply, and out loud ask yourself; “What is it about me that finds that offense?” Once you find that answer you will then have a new aspect of yourself to work on and improve making you that Better Person we all aspire to be.
That being said, in case you hadn’t noticed Political Season 2024 is upon us.
There used to be a time when one could get ‘excited’ and ‘enthusiastic’ about such things but when they stretch out for a year and half, eh, it’s hard to keep that going. Within a few months it becomes boring and, at least I find myself switching channels to shut them up.
We were watching the one and only….Pundit Show? Not sure that’s quite the right phrase. That we allow ourselves. This Week with George Stephanopoulos. I don’t know what you think of that show and I don’t particularly care but that’s it for us. Every other political loudmouth has been exiled from our home for many years now.
They got to the part where they started discussing who was running for President of the United States in 2024. Trumps’ numbers are low. Bidens’ numbers are low. Blah. Blah. Blah. This one’s ‘old’. That one’s ‘ancient’. This one’s ‘not exciting’. That one’s ‘over the top’.
Basically saying what we’ve all known for decades..they ALL suck! They stink. Bottom of the soggy worm infested barrel. Matt and Trey were right, it’s always a choice between a Giant Douche and a Turd Sandwich.
No “news” there.
As I sat there watching them push the political puck around and agreeing with them I wondered if there wasn’t just one person out there somewhere who actually would make a Good President. Someone neither Turd or Douche.
There has to be at least one. Don’t you think?
Problem is, I can’t come up with anyone. Nope. Not a single frickin’ politician that I would like to vote for. That I could be ‘excited’ and ‘enthusiastic’ about. (They ask you that on the surveys I take on YouGov…like you’re going to rock concert or something instead of trudging your way to the polls, doing your Civic Duty, while trying not to puke on everyone around you.)
I thought may be we should throw way ‘the box’. Just not think outside it but toss that puppy on the pyre and be rid of it. Maybe that box is what keeps Good People from running; they just don’t fit into it…in a good way. So they think no one will vote for them. More likely, they just don’t have the cash for such a large endeavor.
The Constitution of the United States of America lists the Qualifications for President as: Being 35 or older and a Natural Born Citizen. I refuse to argue that second part again. If you don’t know what it actually means…Google is your friend, go ask it.
Certainly we can find someone who fits that very barren description and who would also serve as a truly Good Leader and maybe even be a bit inspiring. Maybe someone who doesn’t have one foot in the grave and the other on the proverbial banana peel? I don’t think that’s too much to ask.
If You Could….put anyone at all who falls within those guidelines on the 2024 Presidential Ballot, who would it be?
I’m not trying to start a big political debate or arguments, I’m honestly asking so if you answer (and I hope you do) please do so in the same light.

I can’t find one person that I feel can or wants to solve our problems. I’m also feeling a funk of sorts. I am eligible and able to retire, but I’m afraid to. The political climate makes this country hell on earth, and I do not believe in or agree with any of them. We are trillions of dollars in debt, without the ability to defend ourselves if a war should start. Being so far in debt, what are they looking at cutting to get us out of debt? You got it-Social Security! So, I’ve paid in to this all my life so I’d have some form of retirement money, and
now they wanna cut it. I no longer feel I’m able to work full time, and I’m watching prices skyrocket for food and medical care. I should be looking forward to my “golden years”, yet I’m petrified that I’ll never see them! Sorry to blog in your blog but thank you for letting me vent! Love ya girl 💕

You can rant, rave, and blog in my blog anytime! We’re looking at the same thing; retirement is closing in. We’re wondering how we’re going to do it, if we can do it, and too much other crap to even mention. There has got to be someone out there who would make a good leader. I’m tired of being stuck with the same old shyte!!
